Select Demo was retained to perform the complete demolition and asbestos abatement of this former 45MW coal-fired power plant that powered adjacent textile mills in the city of Fall River. Select’s demolition scope consisted of the complete takedown and abatement of a 40,000 SF brick and concrete structure down to top of the slab with slabs and foundation to remain. Select was responsible for abating and removing four (4) multi-story coal-fired boilers. The asbestos scope also consisted of the abatement, removal and disposal of smoke stack breaching, steam line TSI, transite piping, woven electrical cloths, roof flashing, mag insulation and refractory breaching.
