Select Demo was contracted by Trinity Building & Construction Management Corp. to perform the interior and exterior demolition of this 160,000 SF retail space that once housed Dick’s Sporting Goods in The Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH. Phase 1 work included the complete interior demolition of 160,000 SF of retail space of the former Dick's Sporting Goods site, as well as the asbestos abatement of the first floor sprinkler piping. A New Hampshire Department of Environmental Protection Alternative Work Practices Plan was utilized to wrap and cut as needed. Phase 2 work consisted of stripping of the exterior EFIS system and entries, including structural steel and the removal of second floor and roof openings. Select also performed concrete slab openings for new columns. This scope is part of a larger renovation project, which will redevelop this location into an experimental concept called House of Sport, whose model aims to “explore the future of retail” through multi-sport experiences inside and outside the store.
