Boston College Conte Forum North, Chestnut Hill, MA

Select Demo was contracted by Suffolk Construction Co. to perform the removal of exterior brick façade; the full interior demolition of the power gym, lobby entrance, and band room; the removal of slab on grade in the women’s locker and band rooms; the removal of steel columns and beams throughout the lobby entrance and band room; complete removal of level two and mezzanine slab; and the removal of footings, foundations and piles. Select’s abatement scope consisted of the removal of two skylights and the removal of an asbestos glazed blocking on the ticket booth. Additional abatement work consisted of asbestos façade removal, as well as traditionally abating 1,000 LF of 10’ high foundation walls once excavated. This project was part of the overall renovation (approx. 22,000 GFA) of a portion of the Silvio O. Conte Forum and the building of an addition (approx. 10,000 GFA) to the northern side of the building with associated site improvements on the Chestnut Hill Campus of Boston College.
