Select Demo was contracted by Consigli Construction Co. to perform the complete demolition and abatement of two single story schools, each approximately 40,000 SF, with a shared wet lands between them. Both schools were abated and demolished simultaneously. Select’s abatement scope consisted of the removal of asbestos ceiling tiles, flooring materials, windows and misc pipe and pipe fittings. An non-traditional work plan was issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for damp proofing and vermiculite within the wall cavities to be bulk loaded during demolition.
